Singer's Name: Eugeniusz Mossakowski(1st. June 1885; Łodz - 13 May 1958; Warszaw); Polish Opera Singer from the Grand Theatre (Teatrze Wielkim w Warszawie).
"One of the best baritones in Europe in his generation. He sung in the Grand Theatre in Warsaw in years 1921-39, although his artistic career had been started by him in late years of his life, after he was 32 years old. After the 2nd World War, he withdrew from the artistic career and devoted himself entirely to teaching."
“Rota”(The Oath) is a Polish patriotic hymn, written in 1908 by a Polish poet Maria Konopnicka, to the music by composer Feliks Nowowiejski. It was created as Polish answer to the increasing Germanisation of Polish citizens under the Prussian rule in the 19th/20th century (in the time when – until the 1st World War – territory of the former Polish Kingdom was partitioned between three empires: Russia, Prussia and Austria). “Rota” consists of four stanzas, written in the form of an oath formula, in which Polish nation promises God to keep its national identity and Catholic faith. Song was first made public by hundreds of choristers on 15th July 1910 during the unveiling of the Grunwald Monument in Kraków – the ceremony held on the 500th anniversary of the Polish victory over the Germans in the Battle of Grunwald of 1410. Combined choirs from across the whole of the former Polish state met on the Grunwaldzki Square in Kraków, to create a monumental national call for freedom, sung by thousands of throats, under the composer’s direction.

Уважаемый Владимир! Прежде всего хочу воспользоваться моментом, чтобы поблагодарить Вас за последние загрузки! Особенно порадовали редкие дореволюционные пластинки Звукопись, Полифон и Корона. Я уже воспользовался этикеткой Короны, чтобы наконец-то сделать хороший образец, теперь на очереди Полифон.
Насчёт оригиналов для "рёбер" - я бы ограничился только оригиналами для "официально" издававшихся пластинок - так у нас будет меньше потенциальных проблем с праводержателями.
На "рёбрах" помимо бесчисленного количества записей "художественной самодеятельности" существует немалое количество перезаписей с импортных дисков: Глен Миллер, Дюк Эллингтон, Луи Армстронг, Берт Эмброуз, Рей Нобл и др. .. Нужны ли сайту подобные эксземпляры??? ... И наоборот: Нужны ли те оригиналы (подобно представленному), с которых выполнялись перезаписи на "рёбра"???

дело в том, что я не очень верю в теорию "народных" песен и мне кажется, что мелодия "бай а тайхеле / у реки" (в исполнении Миши Александровича) весьма схожа со "слезной"
