Is this really an excerpt from Chaikovskij's opera? Girard & Barnes give the composer as Adam Münchheimer, who did write an opera named "Mazepa" in 1885.

Yes, Tchaikovsky. She recorded Cradle Song from 'Mazepa' the three times. Two times in 1904 (Pathe 21871 and Rebikov 453), and in 1908 (Gramophone 2-23311). In my own copy Girard & Barnes (1971 BIRS Edition), composer also stated as Tchaikovsky. Page 164 'VCCD' contains complet set 1904 Yermolenko-Yuzhina 'Pathes' (5 Solos and 6 Duets), but missing more 4 others sides recorded probably ca.1914 (shown in Russian 1915 Pathe catalogue).
