Редкий вариант издания этой пластинки можно встретить на "раннем" Музтресте под номером 31. Авторство на этикетке представляется странной фамилией: Весит. ??? На оригинальной пластинке His Master's Voice значится следующее: Sailin 'on the Robert E. Lee. Novelty Foxtrot (West. Mc Caffrey & Ringle).

Robert Edward Lee (January 19, 1807 – October 12, 1870) was a career military officer who is best known for having commanded the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia in the American Civil War. В США его ДОЛЖНЫ знать все, начиная с 3-летнего возраста - начала обучения в детских садах. Знают ли там своего героя, это БОЛЬШОЙ вопрос?

ПАРОХОД не признали в звуках «ЧУх-ЧУХ»… и назвали «ИЗОБРАЗИТЕЛЬНЫЙ фокстрот» ЭКСПРЕССОМ. The Mississippi River steamboat, Robert E. Lee, was named for Lee after the Civil War. It was the participant in an 1870 St. Louis – New Orleans race with the Natchez VI, which was featured in a Currier and Ives lithograph. The Robert E. Lee won the race. The steamboat also inspired a song Waiting for the Robert E. Lee (Lewis Muir-L. Wolfe Gilbert).

На самом деле Robert E. Lee был такой… почти, как в кино Волга-Волга «Америка Россия подарила пароход, огромные колеса, но ужасно тихий ход…» Какой там экспресс….

Этот фокстрот был весьма популярен.Только в 1932 году его записали оркестры,которыми руководили Billy Cotton,Dave Edwards,Harry Roy,Sidney Firman,Sam Samson,Phil Anderson.Deduschka.
