Mewa (means "Seagull") was the first gramophone record company in post-WWII Poland (Poznan, 1945-1949). The label was derived from the name of its owner, Mieczysław Wejman. The company was producing records initially under the label "Melodje", later under its name "Mewa". For more info and catalogues see Polish Wikipedia article.
