The singer's real name is Vagharshak Sahakyan(Arm: Վաղարշակ Սահակյան) - I think this name was russified this way since the sonds of armenian "Gh" and "h" phonemes doesn't exist in russian.
There's a internet link of His biography, but It's on my other PC. Opportunely, I'll post; but I can already say that He and Shara Talyan(From Saro's Aria post:Shara Talyan, Opera Anoush) are the two most giants of armenian 20th century music.
