This book is designated to those readers who interested in the culture events of the first half of the twentieth century taking place in Czech and in the whole world, as they are reflected on the recordings of that time – wax cylinders and standard shellac records. It conceived like “Practical guidebook of the history of recorded sound” that was published by the same author in 2000 year.
Fonogram 2 consists of four chapters:
1. Some history and histories
2. Yet, how it was in our homeland?
3. Who was whom
4. Gramophone companies and labels
The book “Fonogram 2” provides on its 530 pages more than one thousand of mainly full color glossy illustrations of the “Talking Machines” of that time, actors and orchestras, known by the phonograph records and printed promotional materials of log time ago vanished gramophone companies that had supplied records to the listeners of the first half of the twentieth century in Czech and abroad.
