Al Bowlly again
Al Bowlly sings "You're driving me crazy" as the third track here.

This may be the original source
THE NEW MAYFAIR DANCE ORCHESTRA, directed by Ray Noble.
London, February 19, 1931
OB-374-4 Puzzle Record No.1-Part 2 HMV B-3775, Vic 22745
(Al Bowlly sings a chorus of `You're Driving Me Crazy')

Another track is "Goodnight Sweetheart" which was on another puzzle record
NOVELTY ORCHESTRA, directed by Ray Noble.
London, March 9, 1931.
OB-145-1 Puzzle Record No. 2 - Part I HMV B-3825
(Al Bowlly sings a chorus of `I'll be Good Because Of You')
OB-146-4 Puzzle Record No. 2 - Part 2 HMV B-3825
(Al Bowlly sings a chorus of `Goodnight, Sweetheart')

Thes details are from here http://www.btinternet.com/~i.rogers/1931.html which is a discography of Bowlly and doesn't contain the non-Bowlly items.

I don't know the other songs on this ZET record except "Bye Bye Blues" on the other side. It's possible that ZET created their own multi-track record from parts of normal records.

I don't think it would be technically very difficult to create a multi-track record. They just needed to change the gearing so the groove spacing was 3 times wider, and carefully align the cutter each time.

Thank you very much
for the contribution, Adrian

Speaking of multi-track recording process, it's interesting were there any such records in the UK and other countries? I don't know any.

Multi-track records
I think there were many puzzle plates, in the UK and probably many other countries. The first "Puzzle plate" was I think a Berliner of around 1901. I have one made for King George V's coronation in 1911.

Puzzle Plate
"Puzzle Plate" was the 1900 name for these - "Plate" was the word used for a disc record in the very first years. The Berliner I mentioned was recorded on January 20th 1900.

Re: Al Bowlly again

The first multi-track records
In United Kingdom, the first puzzle plate to be manufactured had been Berliner Gramophone 5504 “Puzzell (sic.) Plate”, recorded September 2, 1898 with two piano solos.

The second was the triple-track “Puzzle Plate In A Church” (UK Berliner Gramophone 9290) of November 1900.

The third, most commonly found, "Puzzle Plate" (UK Berliner Gramophone 9317), was recorded in several sessions between January 16 and 21, 1901, with three selections, in at least five versions (A,B,C,D,E).

It was distributed free for solving a G&T advertising promotion (a "His Masters Voice" trademark puzzle), and then sold for five shillings. A brown puzzle record - an Improved 7" Berliner (#1000) - was also issued in Canada, with the same three tracks.

hello conservateur
Do you mean that the ZET records could be electrotypes of the original records, and not re-recordings (transcriptions)? If they showed the original matrix numbers in the same style, that would prove this, and even if the original matrix numbers were removed it could be, like typical pre-revolutionary pirate records.

I do mean this Some of ZET records are re-recordings, but I have one that is an electrotype of an original Columbia and shows the original number. In this case I think that it was much easier to make an electrotype of an original Puzzle HMV than to set the recorder several times to create the same effect

Re: hello conservateur
Thank you. I've never seen any Soviet records like this.

In this case it seems likely it was made from two different HMV records, one for each side.
